The UF Marine Animal Rescue (UF MAR) Program’s mission is to respond to sick, injured, and deceased marine mammals and sea turtles in the Big Bend of Florida, while coordinating with other stranding networks within the state of Florida to promote awareness, education, and understanding of the wild species, their environment and, ultimately, human health with a One Health approach.

*All cetacean, manatee, and sea turtle efforts are conducted under proper permits and authorization. Cetacean efforts are conducted under a Stranding Agreement between NOAA/NMFS. Manatee efforts are conducted under FWS permit MA770191. Sea turtle efforts are conducted under FWC MTP-20-194.
